The school committee shall see that accurate records setting forth the action taken at each meeting are maintained. A summary of all matters voted shall be made available with reasonable promptness after each meeting; provided, however, that votes taken in executive session may remain secret so long as their publication would defeat the lawful purposes of the executive session, but no longer. The records of each meeting shall become a public record and be available to the public upon being approved; provided, however, that the records of any executive session may remain secret so long as their publication would defeat the lawful purposes of the executive session, but no longer.

The school committee will periodically review minutes of executive sessions to determine if the records should remain secret or if they should become part of the public record.
