The officers of the school committee shall be a chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. Annually, at the first regular meeting of the school committee after the annual town elections of both member towns have been held, the committee shall organize its own membership.

The superintendent shall be elected by the committee to serve as the secretary and perform all the duties that are prescribed by law and such other duties, not inconsistent thereto, as majority of the committee may direct.
